Monday morning mist-ery

This morning was a glorious morning..at 7am it was 0.4 c almost a tropical heatwave from the 6am temp of -3 c .

I love these mornings, misty and mysterious the mountains hidden by a low cloud , the sheep mere silouhettes in the front  paddock.

They rest on the dewy ground and their breath rolls from their mouths and floats across and up into the cool air .Their wool full of Lanolin keeping them well insulated in the frost much as it insulates against the heat of Summer.

Cobwebs made by spiders drape between trees like the most delicate of silken threads..made more glorious by dew drops.

The birds have to wait for a drink as their birdbath is frozen solid, crackled and smooth to the touch, the child in me so wants to see Tweety bird ice skating with his little colored scarf  and singing ‘I’m a tweet wittle birdie”…

Waiting for Tweety

The fences are starting to lose their ice and the sunnyside up is already showing no sign of frost…the glistening icy crystals so beautiful and almost tranquil, soon no sign that they were there at all.

Every season gives me a show..something unique to its time and place in the year..

Each season has its mysteries ,the beautiful and the harsh .Plants thrive and then die.Native animals and birds change with these times also, they too have a different season and mystery of their own.

  1. What a beautiful “snapshot” of life in photos and words of your beautiful part of the world…..I wanted to sit here and wait for Tweety Bird to show up – because I could TOTALLY see him in his scarf doing a double toe-loop across the bird bath!
