  1. I know too well about the wonderful service of a trained police K9. The bond between the K9 and handler is very special. Rest in peace Nat and bless your handler. It’s the end of your watch but you are never forgotten. XOXO – Bacon

    • What lovely words..they are amazing animals …I was so sad to read about Nat..i have a soft spot for Rotties and to see he will be the last one serving is sad.I can only imagine the loss his handler is feeling..to spend all day with his dog as a companion and a fellow officer in trying times..he will indeed be a shattered man.
Thanks Bacon and big hugs to you from us ;0

  2. Oh how sad……he certainly was a beautiful and brave boy. I’m sure his handler mourns the loss more than anyone. That’s a very intense bond full of trust and love and honor. The Bridge is enriched to have Nat among the many who have served.

    • Beautifully said Pam…yes it’s a huge bond and I can’t imagine the sadness his handler must be going through..Rotties are beautiful dogs and we miss our boy all the time..The Rainbow bridge is even safer now with this heroic boy there and all the service animals that do a great duty for us.

  3. Run free Nat!!! You served well & leave behind a legacy of service & devotion…….
You know Bev I have NEVER met an ill tempered Rottie ever!! I have no idea where they got their ‘bad rep’?? They are so intelligent & loyal & gentle…I would have one if I had enough space & better health!!!

    • Exactly Sherri-Ellen our big boy had a head like a block of concrete and was the biggest smoocher ever..people would cross the street when we walked him! sheesh!
the only time I saw him in a mood was when he was diagnosed with liver failure..he went down hill fast one day seemingly fine and then belly crawling..when I went to get him out of the car at the vets he growled…I burst into tears..he was such a big boy and it scared me.because he was in pain and because I didn’t want my last memory of him growling…still gets me..R.I.P Eich and he now has wonderful Nat with him

      • Eich sounds like he was a big lovebug too!!! You know the last thing Mingflower (Siamese) did before she was put to sleep was bite my thumb….the Vet was shaving her foreleg & the sound of the razor spooked her….I was crying & in pain & she was howling & in pain & it all went so wrong….the Vet wrapped her in a blanket & took her out into living room & manually shaved her & put in the IV line & gave her first med….then he brought her back into bedroom & she was calm & we snuggled for a few minutes & then she was given the final injection….I was haunted for months after over her passing. Dr. Dave & Jon & I wept like babies once she passed….it was such a awful experience. D.r dAve assures me it will not be like that for Nylablue but I have visions of all sorts of things going wrong….
Ok back to Eich & Nat & all sweet Rotties….they are a lovely breed. If there is an aggresive one it is becuase of the owner not the dog itself I am sure. May Eich & Nat run free together in the Spirit World free of pain!!
        Love Sherri-Ellen xo

        • Poor Mingflower…it’s horrible to have these goodbyes, when poor old Squash went to the rainbow bridge it was a blessing that she had started to lose her hearing so she couldn’t hear the shaver..and yes aggressive dogs from the way they are treated..usually always the owners fault.
Bless all the bubbas who have gone 😦

          • Oh you had a loud shaver incident also?? Poor Squash…i am glad in a way her hearing was compromised!!!! Dr. Dave went out & bought a very quiet shaver after the ‘Mingflower Incident’. I ended up on Antibiotics sick as a dog & grieving & feeling awful in general. So the thought of having to put Nylablue to sleep horrifies me….
I have met some amazing Pitties & they are sweet & lovable. Again they are trained properly & loved & respected & can be wonderful companions.
Bubbas….cool….I call Nylablue Bubba PawPaws…one of her many nicknames…. 😉

            • I agree I get quite sick when something happens with my babies..and yes it is all in the ownership and training!
I have so many nicknames that I am surprised the animals actually know their names hahaha

              • Hi Bev: I get physically ill if Nylablue gets sick…it really does a number on me. I think I have become *hypersensitive* to sick cats because of Nylablue & Mingflower….it has changed me somehow….
That being said I will never give up on Nylablue. She means the world to me!!
LOL you have lots of nicknames for the 4 leggeds too?? I just read an article in CAT FANCY that it is good to speak to our 4 leggeds & use repetitive words & that cats DO learn the words & their names & nicknames….so we aren’t just talking to ourselves, hehehe!
