MORNING ALL..TOOK BASHFUL TO THE SHOPS THIS MORNING.HE HAS WOKEN UP FEELING FAB AND THE BANDAGE HAS BEEN REMOVED…HE WANTS TO KEEP IT AS A MEMENTO AND I HOPE BY THE TIME HE GETS IT HOME IT DOESN’T SMELL LIKE THE PLASTER CAST THAT CAME OF MY ELDEST SONSΒ LEG WHEN HE BROKE HIS THIGH BONE AT TWO..PEE.YEWW!

BASHFUL LEARNED THIS MORNING THAT EVEN OUR DRIVEWAY IS NOT A SIMPLE TRIP IN THE CAR..HE WAS AMAZED THAT THE ROOS REALLY DO USE IT..NOT THE ROAD..NOT THE HIGHWAY BUT OUR DRIVEWAY..

  1. I don’t think I would ever get tired of seeing roos hop across my driveway. I think it must be like seeing deer around here. You know they can be nuisances and pests, but there is still a grace and charm to them. Bashful is well-traveled is he? πŸ™‚

    • I never tire either..the only time they become a pest is when people freak them out and then they damage fences trying to get away..we have parts of the fence the little ones can go under otherwise they hang off the fence and it’s horrible..the big ones just glide over..they move so much dostance so quickly and yes gracefully! Bashful sure is one travellin little dude indeed πŸ™‚

      • Deer are nuisances here because of the ticks they carry that have different diseases. I know several people who have been seriously side-lined by Lyme’s disease and other tick borne diseases. Also, deer are a serious danger when driving, they just run across the road without looking (saw three dead deer by the side of the road this morning.)

        • Same here in regards to running on the road..a fullgrown roo will total a car..and yep we see dead roos on the sides of the road..gets really depressing actually..not as bad as Tasmania where the Paddymelon (google they are very sweet) is everywhere..go berserk trying not to hit one..and people there don’t really care because they are smaller and don’t cause much damage ..as told to us by the Park Ranger at Cradle Mountain..never seen so much roadkill in all my life 😦

  3. Whenever I see deer alongside the road, I think ‘cool’ until I remember what it’s like when they become a hood ornament. I suppose roos are the same. Even so….COOL!!
