NEW YEAR NEW PLACES

PHIL AND I DECIDED TODAY TO VISIT CRUSOE PARK AND RESERVOIR..NOT FAR FROM HOME BUT WE HAVE NEVER HAD THE TIME TO GO…SO OFF WE WENT…WE HAD RAIN TODAY AND MUST ADMIT APART FROM IT BEING A PAIN FOR PHOTOSΒ  WE WERE GLAD OF THE BREAK FROM THE HEAT.

WE STOPPED AT MACCA’S AND HAD OUR LAST BURGER FOR AWHILE…TOO MUCH EXCESS HAS LEFT US BOTH FEELING LIKE THE BLOB! (LAST OF THE TRIFLE WAS PIFFED IN THE BIN..DELISH BUT…)

THE CRUSOE RESERVOIR WAS THE ORIGINAL PLACE TO FILTER THE WATER IN OUR AREA DURING THE GOLD RUSH DAYS..WE ONLY WENT TO THE LARGE RESERVOIR AND WILL VISIT THE SMALL ONE ANOTHER TIME TO SEE THE FROG PONDS AND OLD PUMPING EQUIPMENT ..EVEN WITH THE RAIN I WAS WISHING I HAD MY TOGS BECAUSE THE WATER LOOKED SO TEMPTING..YOU CAN SWIM FISH AND SAIL IN THE LARGE RESERVOIR NOT THE SMALLER ONE..IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL 3.4 KILOMETRE WALK AROUND THE RESERVOIR WITH ME STOPPING ALL THE TIME FOR PICS..

FUNNY I THOUGHT YESTERDAY THAT I WOULD LOVE TO FIND SOMETHING NEW EACH DAY TO CAPTURE FOR MY BLOG FOR THE WHOLE YEAR AND INDEED I SAW NEW THINGS..I HAD NEVER SEEN BEFORE..LOVELY AT 52 TO BE SUPRISED BY THE WOLRD OF NATURE STILL…I HOPE YOU ENJOY AN AMBLE WITH ME THROUGH THE PICTURES..

  1. Lovely way to spend the first day of the new year! That looks like a grand place to get some super photo captures (which you did). Tuning into what’s around us is something we should hold to all our lives…..even at my age I try to find one “new” thing to enjoy every day especially when I’m out in the woods or on a walk. Here’s to a year ahead of more “new things” for both of us Bev!

HAPPY NEW YEAR and that trifle and pud look SMASHING!!!

  3. Happy New Year! It sounds like you had a great New Years Day. It’s nice to see summer. We have about 6 inches of snow and we expect more along with very cold temperatures. We feel pretty sluggish too. From Thanksgiving until New Years we have “unrestrained eating.” Now it’s time to pay for it. We think that trifle looks really yummy.

  4. Even though I am overfully stuffed, the cake, trifle and pud still look delicious. I loved the photos, the older I get, the more beautiful and precious nature looks to me. It delights and inspires me. πŸ™‚

  6. Great photos! Amazing looking creature – Diamond Beetle! I’m with you on feeling like the blob, I need to get outside but it’s hard to get motivated while we’re being battered by storms and ridiculous amounts of rain. Oh well, at least we haven’t flooded like some poor folk have. Soon be Spring yippee!

    • That’s the thing..motivation is damn hard when the weather is foul..makes you more inclined to grab the comfort foods…glad you have not been flooded out..i think being flooded would have to be the worst…poor people the houses stink and cleaning them out…not good! I hope your spring is sprung soon πŸ˜‰

        • Yuk!! we are pleased to have some mild conditons with a bit more rain…problem is when it heats up the growth turns to tinderbox dry…South Australia and Queensland are copping the heatwaves..some places nearly 120F think I would be insane in that heat..we get South Australias weather usually a few days later as it is to Victorias left…I hope not this time!!

  9. Heater weather?? It must be quite chilly then…what is considered cold there? It is -14 C with windchill of -24 C which is 6 Fahrenheit with windchill of – 9.4 Fahrenheit….on other words COLD!!! WE have another blizzard blowing thru: An Alberta clipper. They are storms that last about 20 hours but can dump alot of snow. right now I can’t see across the street for the blowing snow. Nylablue is doing a *happy dance*…thinks she is not going to Vet tomorrow πŸ˜‰
