Spring on the wing

Spring is such a wonderful time …as busy as I am ..and I am up to my neck..i have been making an effort to really indulge in the changes around the property..in doing so I have spotted a few new species of birds that have made an appearance…Β become entranced with the Stumpy tail family that has taken up residence in my garden and have been loving the incredibly large group of bees that are collecting pollen from one tree in particular..

So today I am showing those avian friends that are busily preparing for or raising young…I hope you don’t mind the change from the Roos..

    • Haahah well they do move pretty fast guys! I find early morning or late afternoon they tend to be at their most active and increases the chances of getting at least ONE shot πŸ™‚ a good camera does help for sure! of all the shots you see about 200 or more are rubbish! and it involves a lot of waiting..waiting ..waiting..if your camera has manual settings I can give you some tips for getting a good shot though;) and thankyou for the lovely compliment πŸ™‚ Loves Fozziemum xx

  7. T hanks for beautiful avian photos Bev. I have not heard of a red rumped parrot. Right now I have 2 scarlet and green King parrots eating seed on my deck. They come and talk to me.
My tawny frogmouth baby has been progressing this last week and as the last 2 days have been quite hot, I have given it 2 baths in an ice cream container which it seems to enjoy. After it heats up during the day, I have to bring it into the house as the goanna sneaks around trying to figure out how to get into the cage set up. The mother has been keeping a close watch all along in the nearby tree apart from this morning I have not seen her which is a bit worrying I hope she has not left. Yesterday evening before putting it in its room, I had it out near its room and the mother flew right up to us and landed on crate only a metre away and then flew into her tree. I put baby away, it has a glass door so they can see each other and mother went to another tree doing her low vibratory 1 note call for quite a while. I hope she will be back as baby still needs to learn so much from her once it can fly.

The picture of the Red Rumped Parrot in flight…superb! If I lived where you do I would have to force myself to do something other than spend time with the wildlife and taking pictures of them.
