A beautiful representation

Hi everyone
Well what an absolute thrill…i have been seeing on different blogs the most beautiful artwork of the very clever Thomas Dalsgaard Clausen whose blog is a daily display of his most wonderful pictures.

And so when i asked Thomas if he would like to capture one of my roos he was super obliging!

The image he used was this one of Mum and her baby Joey..

And look at the wonderful result!

I am so happy with how wonderfully Thomas captured my little picture..it is one thing to take a picture but i have so much envy for such talented people who can see what i see and use their hands to create the image..always amazes me.

So please pop by Thomas’s blog and cheer him on in his quest to do these pictures on a daily basis..a clearly talented guy and very generous as well to do these drawings for those people like myself who have to rely on a camera to share what i see!
Click on Thomas’s name to be transported to a very inspiring blog and say G’day!

Again Thomas thankyou this has made my morning and i feel very lucky indeed to have your picture on my blog!

    • It is wonderful Thomas and they make my world always exciting..such fascinating animals and many young joeys in pouches at the moment so lots of photo ops! i wish i could draw them as i think to sit and watch with a pencil and not a rotten great heavy camera would be amazing! i have had a try when i had to do a story board and sadly i did them an injustice! i have a lovely video tribute on one of my posts that always gets me when i watch it ..and again i am so very humbled you did this for me..any time you want a roo an echidna a black sheep a deadly snake a weird lizard just sing out..i got em all hhahahha πŸ˜‰ Fozziemum

      • Haha, I’ll keep that in mind πŸ˜‰ I think that drawing is like so many other skills. The more you do it, the better you get. I know that I’ve improved greatly in these 7 months I’ve been drawing every day.. I think everyone could learn it! That being said, I don’t think I could draw a kangaroo in the wild.. Unless you know how to convince it to stand very still for 30 minutes πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ – I sometimes see people making wonderful sketches of people in the subway, cafΓ©, etc.. I think that kind of thing is really remarkable.. You have to get the essence down on paper from just one or two quick looks, and then the person (who doesn’t know he/she is being drawn!) will change his pose.. One day maybe πŸ˜‰ Maybe I’ll come back and do some poisonous snakes or that long-nosed porcupine at some point πŸ™‚

        • I agree it must take a lot of time! the roos are pretty used to me..i do not hassle them and they will graze happily or ‘camp’ as they call it when they sleep but when they want to go….well gone!! at a rapid rate..i have trouble taking photos of people and prefer to take sneaky ones..you get a more real face πŸ™‚ and yes do come back anytime and the porcupine thing which is an Echidna is adorable..one of only two monotremes in the world and Australia has both πŸ™‚ they are egg laying mammals.super weird πŸ™‚

          • Yeah that’s sort of weird! Australia sure has its share of weird animals πŸ˜‰ I went to Sydney and then Broken Hill on a study trip in 2009.. It was quite an experience, even though I didn’t see much wildlife.. 120+ students walking around in the dessert somehow doesn’t seem so relaxing to the animals.. I’ll have to go back and get the real experience at some point without a hundred co-students to scare all the nature away πŸ˜‰

              • Hi! How are the roos? I’m writing because I’ve made this new site about my best pet-drawings at tclausen.net .. I’m trying to establish some links out there on the net and was wondering if you could maybe edit it in there on the post you did about my drawing? I’d be happy to make you another sketch in return πŸ™‚ Anyway.. Have a great day! Thomas

  1. When I saw Thomas’s roo drawing yesterday I knew it was from you!! He’s a wonder isn’t he? I love how he did Momma Roo and the baby. I’m so glad others are asking him to share his considerable talent with them by capturing their pets with his ballpoint pens and pencils……

    Hugs, Pam
