Been awhile since i did a wild on Wednesday and i am excited to be here to share again some of my world here down under..
As you may be aware it is now just turned into Spring..yet we have had -3C temps overnight and some days no higher than 8C so it has been cold!
Now that is not cold to many of you who have serious cold Winters but it has been the coldest weather for 17 years..and the windchill has made it much much colder again..
Snow has fallen in many states and we still need rain..
So it is with great rugging up and many layers of clothes, jackets, beanies, scarves, and gloves i head out in search of something inspiring.
I went no further than about 25 minutes form home to Cairn Curran Reservoir..you may remember i had some shots of the pups having a grand time swimming there in Autumn..well believe me it was no day for swimming!
I was actually searching for something else which eluded me, but the landscapes were wonderful with looming black clouds and water whipped up by wind ..and as i set about walking forever along the sandbanks with wind throwing stinging sand on my face and making my eyes water like i was peeling onions for Australia i was treated to a display by some Pelicans..they were actually guarding their patch of water from a trio of Whistling Kites..over the hills above the Prickly Pear scattered dunes the Wedge-tail eagles were also being sent on their way by some ravens..
It was next to impossible in these conditions to get a good set of shots of the Eagles..they seem to like the clouds that make my lens have a fit!
And so i share my freezing day trip as i stoke the fire and get ready for a special Birthday tomorrow..my darling old Forrest is turning 12..
