Winter moods

Hi guys..my lack of blogging has been due to lots of burning off in preparation for Summer..many of you know the conditions we get and sadly it must be done.

It was great for the pups to go free range as it were in the lower paddock with us as in Summer this is not allowed..snakes making it too dangerous.

So while the boys sniffed and played we burnt..we got a good bit done but much more needs doing.

We took off Sunday afternoon and i was so excited to get my early birthday present from Hubby..my new Nikon D7200..

Well after spending all Monday trying to work out the autofocus functions i nearly lost my tiny mind..i read that manual i googled that info i tried every thing i could think of…by 5.30pm i had had enough..i caved ..i rang the Nikon help line..she went through it with me and nothing..so we did a reset..push this and that together..ta da..nothing changed.so the Nikon lady who was really super helpful said it must be a hardware issue..so off i went today with my camera back to the shop..

Imagine my utter shock when the nice dude took it out asked me where certain buttons were..explained he knew not much about it..and then turned it on and voila!

I did mutter some rather colourful words and he laughed..i could not believe it..seems maybe one button i was pushing was stuck because he did nothing different to me…urghhhhh..so i got to bring my baby home..phew..

So between the work outside..a crook tummy which is now fine and spending all my time trying to work this camera out i have been awol.

This afternoon i went out with my new camera to see what i could find..i am being very basic with the shots as i learn my way around what is clearly a much different camera..i have to say i am super impressed so far with the quality…

So i am off to bed..it’s late and i am super tired..but i leave you with some tentative shots taken today of our beautiful countryside..Winter is throwing some really gorgeous moody skies our way and the contrasting fields of green which will soon be brown make for some really lovely days out..

Hugs Fozziemum ..

  3. Your photo pixs are so crisp. Love seeing your country, wish we could visit Australia. WOW what a terrific birthday present. I hated when Sweet William broke my great camera and it could not be fixed two months ago. Now I just have cheaper than cheap $89 camera. Oh well!
    Thanks for being a friend

    • Lee and Sweet William…if you are ever able to visit we would show you a really good time :)…i understand how much losing a camera can be…but honestly…it’s the eye and the moment that make a great shot..the camera is just a tool…i could have the best pen in the world but could never write a novel πŸ™‚ loves Fozziemum xxx

  4. All these photos are spectacular. You should enter them into some photo contests. The colors are so vivid, I feel like I am looking out the window and not at a photo.

  5. bev…..this reminds me of the phone I have; no matter who called, I NEVER heard the ringer that a call was incoming….I had the volume to max, assigned everyone a different ring tone; tried calling myself with the landline and from work….nada….finally decided I’d best check in with tech support of some sort; only to find out that the “ringer switch ” on the side of the phone….was ….. shut off….

you and your new camera are doing justice to the Australian landscape, these photos are beautiful !! β™₯β™₯

  6. What beautiful photos……………I love abandoned buildings as “subjects” for drawings – or should I say I “DID” love them as I don’t draw much anymore. But they make super pen/ink drawings – almost as good as your beautiful camera captures! Glad you’re feeling better…………….

    Love, Pam

  10. What gorgeous photos, Bev!! Hope you are getting your burn off done and will be ready for summer. Seems like you just started winter there, but then again, it seems like we just started summer here and it is almost over!
How are you feeling about the new camera? I still haven’t taken the plunge to get something new, but still definitely need to!

    • Jan thankyou πŸ™‚ i am getting my head around the camera i think..still very different but fast as whip which is great..been very busy with the pre summer burning off and so not here as often as i would like..have to strike while the weather is good..i think they may bring restrictions in early this year so killing ourselves quite nicely with yard work πŸ™‚ i still live my old Nikon..never missed a beat and really good price now..as opposed to when we got it πŸ™‚ hugs Bev xxx

  11. I have just graduated from a Sony to a Canon DSLR and finding it a bit of a trial. However, I have decided to join the local photography club and take things from there. Love the photographs. Nice to see that green stuff, which my good wife tells me is called grass. Much nicer than saltbush.
